Montmorency Sour Cherry Tree is the best-known, best-loved sour cherry. Large, bright-red fruits with firm yellow flesh accomplish marvels in pies, preserves, and juices; good for freezing. Sour cherries are packed with healthful antioxidants. Taking its name from a valley in France, a highly adaptable tree, growing to 20 feet, is extremely winter hardy. Self-fertile: only one tree is needed to produce. Ripens mid-July.
